Press Wine events for the coming year

I hope that you are well and enjoyed a jolly and Merry Christmas. Possibly you are planning for the coming year so I thought you might be interested to learn about some wine activities. Press Wine Services has arranged a number of events for the coming Spring season. There are the Wine Tables (see below for details) and, in co-operation with Canterbury Wine School, a number of One Day Wine Courses and Wine and Spirit Education Trust courses.

We will soon send out details of the wine dinners that are run in local establishments. Hopefully, they will give you something to look forward to in late January, February and March, or whenever the various diets get over the excesses of Christmas diets end. We hope to put on events at The Sportsman, and The Duck Inn. In addition we will be working with Café du Soleil to run some Cheese and Wine workshops.

So please read on below about the Wine Tables, and don’t forget we can always arrange a bespoke tasting at the Goods Shed or your home for a special occasion.

The Wine Table

Once a month Press Wine Services will be running a ‘Wine Table’ evening at which a selection of 8 wines will be opened and tasted. Corks will be drawn and the first wine poured at 7 pm; we aim to serve the final wine at 8.30pm. There will also be a range of tapas style dishes during the evening.

The dates are as follows

Friday 29th  January: a chance to taste a range of Italian reds and whites from the north to south of this extraordinarily vinous rich country. We will sample wines from Sardinia and Puglia, Sicily and Tuscany plus others from Piedmont and Friuli.

Friday 26th  February: SOLD OUT an opportunity to explore the two great varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. So, as well as the famous wines of Burgundy we will experience examples from around the world including New Zealand, the USA and Chile.

Friday 25th  March: a Spring Selection! The wines for this evening will be chosen to fit the lightening mood of Spring with light semi-aromatic whites and medium bodied reds. The wines will include examples of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Tempranillo and Gamay from around the globe.

Places are limited to so please book as soon as possible. The cost is £ 20 per person, payable with your booking.
